PRIORITISE MAN CITY ATTACKING ASSETS

Pep Guardiola’s free-scoring side are the outright favourites to score multiple times in round 2. They found the net three times in their opening group stage fixture away to Shakhtar Donetsk and are averaging 3.7 goals per game in all competitions this season.

There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 15 of Man City’s last 16 Champions League outings and although Dinamo Zagreb are in excellent form in Europe with five clean sheets in their last seven, I think we are all in agreement that they will ship goals in this one.

WILL PSG LIVE UP TO THE ODDS?

Although the Ligue 1 leaders shocked Real Madrid with a 3-0 victory in their opening group fixture, their implied odds to score 2+ is questionable taking into account their form in all competitions and history in Istanbul.

The Turk Telekom Arena is an intimidating stadium to visit and Paris Saint Germain have lost all three of their previous matches in Istanbul. Galatasaray have failed to score in five of their last six Champions League matches, but have also played a big role in limiting these fixtures to under 2.5 goals over this period.

LIVERPOOL TO BOUNCE BACK AFTER ROUND 1 DEFEAT

Liverpool will be desperate to bounce back from their defeat as they travelled to Napoli in round 1. They had plenty of opportunities in that match, but ultimately failed to convert. This was a rare slip up in front of the goal, rather than a worrying display, and they will be confident of getting back on course against RB Salzburg.

The Austrian club were frightening in front of goal in their very first Champions League Group stage fixture, however, they still leaked a couple of goals and rank second-bottom for clean sheet potential this week. Liverpool are unbeaten at Anfield in their last 24 matches.

UCL FANTASY ANYTIME GOALSCORER ODDS

Forward Midfield Defender
Aguero, Jesus (69%) Sterling (65%) Ramos (28%)
Benzema (58%) Salah (60%) Goosens (23%)
Mbappe (57%) Mane (58%) Meunier (18%)
Messi, Ronaldo (56%) Hazard (52%) Alexander-Arnold (17%)
Lewandowski (55%) Bernardo, Mahrez (51%) Otamendi (15%)

SERGIO AGUERO AND CO.

Sergio Aguero is likely to start having featured from the bench in midweek due to a minor injury worry ahead of kick-off. As Man City play on Tuesday, you will be able to check their lineup before confirming your squad in any competitions involving the full round of fixtures.

If the Argentine starts, he is certainly going to be a popular captaincy choice. Although not as likely to find the net as Aguero and Sterling (if he starts) Bernardo Silva and David Silva are solid picks. They also featured off the bench on Saturday in the Premier League and look set to play significant minutes.

UNEARTHING A GOAL-SCORING DEFENDER

There are a few good options to target in defence if your looking for that goal-scoring defender capable of propelling you up those UCL Fantasy league tables. Atalanta had a nightmare Round 1, but Robin Goosens is still a huge threat down the left flank.

Classified as a defender, but occupying the left midfield role, he scored in his clubs latest Serie A fixture before being substituted off on the 60th minute in preparation for the midweek match as Atalanta host Shakhtar Donetsk.

LEWANDOWSKI TO PUNISH THE STUTTERING SPURS

Off the park confusion surrounds Tottenham at the moment and it’s translating to slip ups on the pitch. It appears to revolve around Eriksen, and not just on his move away from London, as Vertonghen emerged with a black eye in recent footage – apparently a result of club captain, Harry Kane, literally taking matters into his own hands.

Robert Lewandowski travels to the inventively named Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in ridiculous form with 12 goals in his last seven matches for Bayern Munich in all competitions. If there’s any uncertainty in the Spurs backline, he’ll latch onto it.
