The Best Mid-Priced Players For EFL Championship Fantasy 2019/20

With the mid-price picks being where the solid, regular point scorers live in Championship Fantasy, we make a case for several picks from each position, aiming to give you the most out of your points per million for weekly points and regular hauls.

Mid-Priced Goalkeepers For Championship Fantasy

Huddersfield Town have managed to secure the loan services of highly-rated Liverpool stopper Kamil Grabara (£5.0). The Polish goalkeeper stands behind centre back pairing Christopher Schindler (£5.5) and Tommy Elphick (£5.5), in what is expected to be one of the toughest defences to crack this season.

Derby County‘s Kelle Roos (£5.0) served up only 6 clean sheets last term as the Rams made the play-off final and will be hoping to hit double figures this season.

Daniel Bentley (£5.0) joins Bristol City from fellow Championship side Brentford, where he kept 7 clean sheets last time around. However, fronted by a stellar City defence, we can surely expect better this season.

Mid-Priced Defenders For Championship Fantasy

Speaking of which, the City defence should also be in our consideration, with right-back Jack Hunt (£5.0) topping the attacking charts, with 1 goal and 5 assists, yet also with 10 yellow cards. Elsewhere, former Chelsea pair Jay Dasilva (£5.0) and Tomas Kalas (£5.0) also priced the same, with fewer bookings, yet far fewer attacking returns.

Joe Bennett (£5.0) could be your cheap way into Cardiff City’s defence, coming in cheaper than teammates Morrison (£6.5), Flint (£6.5) and Bamba (£5.5).

Perhaps a surprising mid-priced entry is Middlesbrough’s George Friend (£5.5), always an excellent fantasy pick. 3 goals and 3 assists for the 7th placed club, who lost their way a little towards the back end of the season, and will be looking to maintain their form from the first half of the season.

Mid-Priced Midfielders For Championship Fantasy

Birmingham City’s Jacques Maghoma (£5.5) will be looking to follow on from his 6 goals and 5 assists last season. For £2.0 more you could have Sheffield Wednesday’s Barry Bannan (£7.5), as he assisted a huge 12 times, and added 4 goals to his tally last season.

Preston North End offer a bit of a selection headache, with midfielders Daniel Johnson (£7.5) and Paul Gallagher (£7.5) priced identically.

Johnson offered 7 goals and 5 assists to Gallagher’s 6 goals and 8 assists. With it being hard to split the pair, as a side note, Johnson received twice as many yellow cards as Gallagher, with 8 to 4.

Mid-Priced Forwards For Championship Fantasy

Experienced forward Danny Graham (£7.5) had one of his most productive seasons, as he found the net for Blackburn Rovers 16 times, and 6 assists on top.

Also in the same price bracket, Lee Gregory (£7.5) arrives at Stoke City on the back of a 14 goal, 7 assist season at Millwall.

If you have a bit more to spend, Derby County attacker Tom Lawrence (£8.0) is a good option, with far less attacking returns with 7 goals and 5 assists, but with a Derby team hoping to go one better than last season, big things are expected this season from him.
