Counting Down The Best Moments of IPL 2021 So Far

Counting down the best moments of IPL 2021 so far

The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League has been nothing short of being momentous thus far. With cricket betting apps spurring interest within the demographics of all cricket lovers, the record-breaking season is the first of its kind, as it was suspended indefinitely earlier this year. This forced the administration to conduct this edition of the tournament in two different phases (and in two different locations). The first phase was conducted in India earlier this year and featured numerous breathtaking encounters between some of the best teams of the IPL league and the best players of the world.

The Best Moments of IPL 2021 Phase 1:

As the next phase of the tournament starts later this week, the following blog uncovers some of the best moments of in this years IPL first phase –

1. Jos Buttler’s 124 Run Innings

Jos Buttler‘s mammoth 124 run innings against the Sunrisers Hyderabad – can be deemed as one of the most brutal exhibitions of batting by any batsman this season. Rajasthan Royals showed Sunrisers Hyderabad no mercy, as they cruised to a 55 run victory in the 28th match of the season.

However, the moment of the match that surely left a mark on the fans, as well as other teams of the league, when Jos Buttler scored his maiden IPL ton and smashed 11 boundaries and 8 sixes in the process. This innings also made Buttler a betting favourite, as in the following week, he became the most picked batsman, according to cricket betting tips.

2. Kane Williamson

Kane Williamson, the Kiwi captain, showed a brute display of force and aggression as he walked in to bat in the most pivotal moments of the Hyderabad innings against former IPL winners Chennai Super Kings. As the 19th over began, the Hyderabad side stood at a meagre total of 139 – 3, with just 5 balls remaining in the innings. Williamson then pulled the trigger as he hammered 4 consecutive boundaries (4,6,4,4) and took the team towards a defendable total.

3. Harpreet Brar’s Crucial Breakthrough of (3/19)

The Royal Challengers Bangalore have had a stellar first phase, as they managed to win 5 out of their 7 matches. However, one of the two defeats that they faced, came from the hands of the Punjab team, specifically from an amature zealant bowler – Harpreet Brar. Harpreet Brar’s 11th & 13th  over saw him bowling out arguably some of the most noted names in modern-day cricket – Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell.

However, the most important feature of this performance was the time at which Brar took these wickets. Before Brar decided to turn the tables with his brilliant spell, Bangalore side was chasing down a considerable target of 180 runs and were well on track.

4. Shaw’s Fireworks

As the Delhi Capitals walked out to bat against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the first innings of their encounter. Young pacer Shivam Mavi got thrashed by an aggressive Prithvi Shaw, who took advantage of the short boundaries and pounded Mavi for six consecutive boundaries all around the stadium.

The second phase of the IPL season is set to begin next week, with animosity increasing within fans and bookies as the interest in cricket betting apps soars. However, amongst the added tension of online cricket betting, a few moments like those given above can remind the fans what domestic league cricket is all about.
