The Sri Lanka versus India series got postponed by five days because of the Lankan camp being hit by COVID-19. The three-match ODI series is now going to be played from July 18 to July 23 while the T20Is will be played on July 25, July 27 and July 29.
The three-match ODI series will be a good test for the second-string Indian side while the T20Is could allow them to make a case for the T20I World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman in October and November.
The third T20I will be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on July 29 much like the first two T20Is. The average first innings score in T20Is is 175 while the second innings score comes down to 138. Teams batting first have won 17 games while teams batting second have won 18 encounters. This proves that the pitch holds up well and toss shouldn’t be the most important factor.
India will go into the game as favourites as usual and will look to bat first and put the out of form Sri Lankan side under pressure. The T20Is will be a good yardstick for the selectors to judge the talent and form ahead of the World T20.
For Sri Lanka, it will be an opportunity to get back to form and find the best solution for their team against one of the best teams in the world.
Sri Lanka are yet to name their squad for the series following pay disputes within the team. This is the team they had in their last series against England.

FANTASY PREDICTIONS and TIPS
Expect India to complete a clean sweep of the series even with a weakened side. The experience and quality of the Indian side is much more compared to a Sri Lankan side, which hasn’t been in the greatest of forms.
Bet on Prithvi Shaw and Surykumar Yadav as they have shown good form in the practice games. Ruturaj Gaikwad can also be a good pick but he might not be a part of the team ahead of the more experienced Shikhar Dhawan and Shaw himself.
For wickets, Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar can be good calls. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal can also play together and punting on them for small bets could prove beneficial. Sri Lanka’s Akila Dananjaya also comes across as a good option if he is picked in the side.
