Aakash Chopra is predicting that the five-time champion Mumbai Indians led by Rohit Sharma, will emerge victorious over their rivals from Chennai Super Kings.
The much-awaited renewal of an old rivalry will take place between two teams that have been extremely successful in IPL – Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. The match starts at 7:30 PM IST on Sunday.
“I am putting my neck on the block, you can make the memes. I am going with Mumbai Indians to win,” Aakash Chopra said on his Youtube channel.
The two key performers for India in the game are Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali. While they both have their strengths, Chopra says that finger spinners will be more successful than wrist bowlers at Dubai’s Rostov arena because of its surface type which promotes slower ball movement with an emphasis on turning it over into a taker’s territory while putting little energy behind your faster deliveries or shorter balls outside off-stump.
“Finger fingers to pick more wickets than wrist spinners. You might see Tahir and Chawla play, Rahul Chahar will surely play. But Moeen Ali and Jaddu will do a fairly good job on this big ground. They will be taking more wickets,” Chopra added.
Bowlers will be able to pick up at least one wicket inside the powerplay if not more with this new ball, says Chopra.
“The first wicket will surely fall in the first four overs, it is possible two might also fall. The last time when the first match was played in Dubai, the pitch was hard and had grass, there was a lot of sideways movement available. Even though you might play cautiously, despite that Deepak Chahar, Bumrah or Boult – whoever bowls, they will still get you out,” Chopra signed off.
