Due to an injury, MI’s all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar recently has been ruled out of the remainder of the IPL 2021. MI didn’t reveal any specifics of Arjun’s injury yet but they announced a replacement for the remainder of the season.
The Replacement for Injured Arjun Tendulkar
Simarjeet Singh, Delhi-born pacer, has been included in the Mumbai Indians squad for the remaining season as the injury replacement for Arjun. The franchise bought Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, for 20 lakh in the IPL auction ahead of the season. Arjun Tendulkar hadn’t yet featured in any game in this season for Mumbai Indians and has now been ruled out.
On Wednesday, the franchise announced this news –
“Mumbai Indians have added Simarjeet Singh as an injury replacement to Arjun Tendulkar for the remainder of their IPL 2021 season,” Mumbai Indians said in a released statement.
“The right arm medium fast bowler has started training with the team after completing the mandatory quarantine as per IPL guidelines.”
The zesty 23-year old, Simarjeet has played 15 T20 matches and picked up 18 wickets at an economy rate of 7.76. He has pulled 37 wickets in 10 first-class games.
