He made his remarkable and modest showing at the Ranji Trophy in the year 2016, where he recorded 557 runs, to become one of the best runners in the Delhi team. Additionally, he scored 229 runs at the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy in the year 2016 while still playing for Delhi. As if that was not enough in 2016, he became the 2nd highest runner in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

In the game against Jharkhand, he shocked fans with his undefeated 60 runs, noting that Delhi Capitals had already lost the first three wickets in only 14 runs. His contribution led Delhi to triumph by five wickets. In the 2017-2018 Ranji season, he recorded an outstanding 613 runs in only eight games, which steered him to being shortlisted in India A lineup for the Deodhar Trophy for the 2018-2019 season.

He started off playing in the IPLs in 2015 while at Mumbai Indians. The MI squad had so many stars that overshadowed his talent, which was seen in sections in 2016 but shone in 2017.
