During the U-19 World cup, he was selected to represent the country to the UAE. He made the country proud as he topped the run-getter for India and emerged as the only player to hit the three fifties. At the end of the match, he ranked position six on the batsmen who had the most runs during the whole tournament. This achievement was acknowledged even though India did not qualify to reach the semi-finals.
In 2015, Sanju was picked to join the Zimbabwe tour, where he managed to make India proud by appearing in the T20 match and scoring 19. In the 2016 IPL, Dravid decided on Sanju, and he did not disappoint him. He became the third-highest run-scorer of the team. Although he was a team member of the Kolkata Knight Riders, he never got the chance to showcase his talent. He only managed to come into the spotlight when he joined the Rajasthan Royals.
During the 2013 to 2015 phase, he was among the most vital players for the Rajasthan Royals batting lineup. He managed to give the team a stable solid game and helped them accelerate with the help of his strokeplay. Ignoring his temperamental issues, Sanju Samson was seen as the next superstar. His promising success made him rise to become MS Dhoni’s successor.
However, over the past years, Sanju Samson has not reached a breakthrough to help him shine his star. He often starts a season with impressive knock-offs, only to come fizzling down as the tournament continues. His lack of interest in glovework during domestic cricket has been the significant course of his setback. By the time he had made up his mind to become a gloveman, he had slipped and lost much focus. During the match between Sri Lanka and India, Sanju got a ligament injury.
