Harbhajan Singh, the famous spinner of Kings XI Punjab, got suspended for five matches after he slapped the Kerala-based speedster S Sreesanth from the Mumbai Indians team on the field. It all happened in the inaugural match only.
Luke Pomersbach, the Australian hitter who was playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, was one of the finest players in the IPL. He has played 17 matches in the remunerative leagues. Things took a U-turn for him when a woman filed a case against him for sexually assaulting her.

Amit Singh got banned from IPL for acting as the intercessor between Rajasthan Royals and bookies. He was banned for 5 years and charged with a penalty also.
Ankeet Chavan from Rajasthan Royals was caught for spot-fixing. The team banned him for a lifetime as he was found guilty of taking a huge amount of money for the same.
Hiken Shah was banned for five years as the Mumbai Indians team found him following an illegal approach during the IPL leagues.
